Various Parts

An RFQ is a request for a quotation from a customer or potential customer. To provide a quote, we need information about your project to produce accurate costings for tooling, jigs, production and all of the requirements that you have.

Depending on the status of your project, you might already have all the information we need or not know how to start.

We've summarised below how we can help depending on which stage of your project you have reached:

1) The Light Bulb Moment – Where you have an idea that you want to make a reality, we would have a face-to-face meeting to share and understand your idea. At the end of the meeting, we would have sufficient information to provide a budgetary quotation of piece price and tooling cost.

And if required, we can advise on the designs for your project for you and supply prototypes, prior to any commitments on tooling expenditure.

2) Design for Manufacture – This is the stage at which MGS Technical Plastics are best able to value engineer your project to achieve optimal outcomes.

We are always happy to sign an NDA and review your project for feasibility and offer design advice to ensure that you achieve your desired outcomes.

We would be able to provide a budgetary quotation at the start of this stage and review it during the development of the design.

3) For Existing Transfer Tooling Projects – Either all of the above or simply a sample part with as much information about the tooling as possible, including the number of impressions and overall dimensions.

4) For the Most Accurate Quotation – A 3D CAD Model of the part is required, with an indication of the intended use of the part and all of the critical features which are important to you and your project. 2D Drawings of your part can also be used to provide a quote.

It is also helpful to know what type of polymer you would like the product to be made from, a product weight, and an estimated annual quantity. Lastly, any assembly requirements and the details of any bought out parts, the delivery frequency and packaging requirements.

This will provide the information needed to prepare a quote for all tooling and a piece price for your project.

How can we support your project?

Together we determine the best design, material and production decisions for optimum quality, speed and value.
