WHERE IT STARTED
MGS Technical Plastics Ltd. was established in 1974 in Blackburn, Lancashire. John Sturgess joined the family firm in 1983 when it consisted of only four staff members occupying one building and worked his way up to Managing Director in 1991, where he began to lead the company to its current position.
MGS Technical Plastics moved to our current location in 2013 and has invested more than £2 million in the new facility, investing in modern efficient machinery, industry 4.0 technology, and the development of our people.
The leadership team was developed in recent years to further push the company forward with the additions of a Technical Director, Sales Director, and Non-Executive Director. A strong Board now steers the business towards its vision with expertise covering technical, operational, cultural, and business development.
MGS GROWTH JOURNEY
After a 6 year break developing his career elsewhere Mark rejoined MGS as the Sales Director in 2018. In those six years we had settled into our new custom built premises and made major investments into the factory, equipment and technologies.

THE NEXT FIVE YEARS
On the path to becoming a £20 million plastic injection moulder, we expect to invest in a second site to ensure that we can continue to offer the capacity and speed that our clients require.
We will continue to supply and support manufacturers in a variety of industries, including automotive, lighting, safety and security, and medicine. We expect to grow our international footprint, supplying new partners overseas that appreciate the quality of product, technical input and the speed of supply we offer.
Markets change, but our attitude and approach has continued to and will always remain the same, prioritising people, training and infrastructure to achieve peak performance for our partners.
